It's Friday!

It's Friday and I only have one more day left. Kai came upstairs with me while I was getting ready this morning and decided he wanted to do his eyelashes like Nana! He is just too cute!

Then we went to Target and it was so cold outside and there was even snow flurries. I can't believe this is Texas weather. Poor Kai needed a hot chocolate to keep him warm in the store!

Then we went and had Pedicures, we haven't done those since Lauren's weedding. I would love to tell you that this photo was a photo of our feet...but it isn't ! :)
I guess we thought if we had pedicures that we would force the weather
 to change!

It was so cold tonight that we felt like we should  go eat Pho and then come back and watch a movie.

So we just snuggled up with a good movie Big Hero 6, then got our snacks and blankets and we snuggled down for the night.

I am going to miss this bunch, how I wish we didn't live so far apart!

The Thinkery!

Today we took Kai to the THINKERY today.
It is a Children's Museum and Brad did a poster for one of their Grand Opening, you can see it
It was fun to see his posters for sale in the Gift Shop.
Kai loved all the areas and had to show me each one. (although I know there were a ton of places that we never made it to! ) His favorite place is the Water Works area... he could stay there forever.

They had a Farmer's Market area, he shopped and cooked for us...totally Organic of course! :)

The Lights Area was neat. Have you ever seen such a big Light Bright. Every kid should have one of these. I could have stayed there forever.

Then he wanted to show me the Shadow camera room.

Here we are doing Thumbs Up together!

Then the Microscopes were so cool.  They had all kinds of things in there for them to look at ...Material, buttons, rocks, sticks and etc.

What a fun place and what a fun time with Krystal and my boy! I love that I am getting to have so much One on One time with him. I feel very blessed!
For Valentine's Day I sent Brad a Pineapple Slicer. Tonight was his first time to try it!

I don't think he really believed it would work! He was pleasantly surprised. When Brad was on his mission in the Phillipines, he learned how to cut pinapples, but we always teased him because he made such a mess. This way was less messy and way faster...but maybe not quite as fun!
Tonight they wanted to take me to Z tejas for dinner. It was amazing mexican food!
Then we headed for the book store called The Book People, so he could show me their book Tatay's Gift, it sells there. But we couldn't find it, they had sold out...he was excited, now they can order more. It is so neat to know that they have their first book published. Fun bookstore! What a fun day!
Only a couple more days left! :(
Kai was trying on all the dress up stuff, here he is as a serious Firefighter...too cute!

Happy People!

Found a great article Here:   of 6 Things Happy People Do every morning!
Check it out, it is very interesting!
I thought they were pretty good ideas. Of course it's not hard to wake up Happy, when you see these smiling faces when you get up. What a treat it has been to be here with my family!

Yesterday we just hung out and laid low, to give Kai a rest. We have been doing and going somewhere every day... but Kai still hasn't been feeling very well. So we just stayed home and played games and read books. For dinner they wanted to take me to one of their favorite places to eat. Torchy's. It really was good, spicy but good.
Kai even decided that he would help clean up tables after we ate! Not sure they are hiring kids his age though.

Today we got to visit a couple of Quilt Shops but the Best part of the day...was Kai and I got to go to Krystal's Doctor appointment with her. We even got to hear the baby's heartbeat! I cried...there is something about hearing a baby's heartbeat...maybe because I am a Nana, but it is simply the BEST! We are grateful that everything was good and normal. Baby seems to be very healthy!
This quilt below looks big but it is a tiny mini quilt!

Road trip!

Yesterday was our last day together before Jeff had to leave. We decided to go to Fredricksburg today
. It is a little German town about an hour away. There was a storm front that came through and so we all had to bundle up, there was a ton of ice, you can even see it on the cars. It was fun but there were a ton of stores closed because of the cold and ice. As we were walking around it was freezing...in the low 20's. So glad we brought our coats! Still had to borrow scarves and gloves!
Texas Mistletoe...too funny!
They have been here a couple of times before, so they knew a couple of shops that they wanted to take us to. The fudge and candy shop was one of them. They had quite the selection and even some old fashion candy that I remember from my childhood. Then they had some really unique candy like below... chocolate covered bacon, peppers and pickles. Krystal said even though she is pregnant, non of that sounded good to her!

Lunch was wonderful and Jeff got to have his favorite  Rueben sandwich! He said it was great! Then we went to a general store where they had tons of sauces, jellies, butters and almost everything you could have wanted to sample. That was fun. I loved the plaque that they had hanging up about 5 Deadly Terms used by Women. I have to say... most of it was true! :) At least Jeff thought so! We found a fun toy store where Kai and Seth got to practice all their musical skills!

Then Brad and I headed to the airport to drop off Jeff. So glad we got to have at least 5 days together. But I have to admit...I miss him already! I will be home next Saturday. Need to have some more time with by Kai boy! And Krystal and I even have a coupe of Quilt Shops we are going to check out. We wish we knew what the baby is going to be so we could start shopping now, but we only have 2 more weeks till we find out! Can't wait!

QuiltCon Day 3

Today ( actually Friday or I should say yesterday ) was Day 3 of QuiltCon, it was probably the most crowded of all the days so far. Of course it was even better, because Kai came with his Mom to come pick me up. He was so fun. It's so great to have some fun times with this sweet boy of mine.
I think that the sales were up ...because Kai and I showed the people that even kids could use  Ellen's Quilting Disks with ease! :)

Then Kai and I tried to see if we could take some funny photos while his Mom was in the bathroom.

 Here is proof...he is a boy...through and through! :)

But this really was a great experience! I loved meeting these great ladies, spending time around so many women who have the same love of Quilting as I do. Loved to see all the new and improved  accessories and gadgets out there, to help you in your quilting projects. What a great trip!
