Happy New Years! 2013

I know of a few friends, who also are struggling right now in their lives. I wonder at times what is the answer for each of them?  What is the right answer for me, since I have been struggling so bad lately also?
What are the right words to say?
The truth is...I really do know what the answer is for them ...and even for myself. It is an answer that has been around for thousand of  years, and they are in the scriptures. I am not sure why I try so hard to find answers somewhere else.
These are the words of Christ and I know they are true, and that my life is better when I not only know His words... but follow and obey them. Too simple? To most problems there is usually a simple answer...it's just all the emotional part of the problem that makes things complicated and complex.
Here are the scriptures that I have marked and continue to go back to in the Bible for comfort, support, direction and peace! Things that I can't seem to find in the world around me. I won't mention all of them but these are a few at the top of my list! And like anything else... you don't have to take my word for it, pray about it for yourself ( James 1: 5-6 ) and see if His peace and light don't make you feel better right away

John 14:27  The peace that Christ is talking about is the type of peace that helps us not only through the dark valleys of worry and pain, but also through dimly lit passages of our daily lives.

John 13: 34-35  We need to remember to show love on a daily basis to those around us.

John 12:35-37  Jesus Christ is the light. I love the analogy that He gives about Himself being the light and how that light will guide us. I also think it is important to remember that "Seeing is not believing, but believing is seeing" That is so true. Because of my believes, I see the world in a different and better way for me! I am grateful for that Light that Christ offers me ( us ).

Matthew 11:28-30  The Savior helps us with our burdens, shares the load, does not take them away but helps to make us stronger so our load will be lighter and easier to bear. It is vital that we come unto Him. He is waiting but we have to come and ask for help, light and strength.

Revelations 21: 3-4  No matter what happens in our lives...one day the Lord will make it right and wipe away our tears!

So no matter what...let's start this New Year off right...with much faith, hope, courage and peace.
Good night dear friends and Happy New Year!

Sweet and Simple

I loved this, hope you do too!  Good night dear friends!

The Seven Wonders of the World

Junior high school students in Chicago were
studying the Seven Wonders of the World. At
the end of the lesson, the students were asked
to list what they considered to be the Seven
Wonders of the World. Though there was some
disagreement, the following received the
most votes:
1. Egypt's Great Pyramids
2. The Taj Mahal in India
3. The Grand Canyon in Arizona
4. The Panama Canal
5. The Empire State Building
6. St. Peter's Basilica
7. China's Great Wall
While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student, a quiet girl, hadn't turned in her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list. The quiet girl replied, "Yes, a little. I couldn't quite make up my mind because there were so many." The teacher said, "Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help."
The girl hesitated, then read, "I think the Seven Wonders of the World are:
1. to touch...
2. to taste...
3. to see...
4. to hear... (She hesitated a little, and then added...)
5. to feel...
6. to laugh...
7. and to love.
The room was so quiet, you could have heard a pin drop.
May this story serve as a gentle reminder to all of us that the things we overlook as simple and ordinary are often the most wonderful - and we don't have to travel anywhere special to experience them.

Childlike

I think there are many of us, who have felt one time or another... that we would be better off if we could have kept our life simple, like when we were a child. We had more fun, enjoyed the little things and didn't worry half as much.

Yesterday I got to spend the day with one of my great- nieces and it always reminds me of the simple joys of life. My sister-in-law took this picture of us, while my little great niece was just looking at a book.  We laughed when we realized what book it was  50 WAYS TO A BETTER YOU for Dummies. :)

I think we all could be a little bit better, if we would just remember to be a little more childlike.
Simple but true!

Good night dear friends!

My Resignation
I am hereby officially tendering my resignation as an adult. I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities of an eight-year-old again.

I want to go to McDonald's and think that it's a four-star restaurant.

I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle and make a sidewalk with rocks.

I want to think M&Ms are better than money because you can eat them.

I want to run a lemonade stand with my friends on a hot summer's day.

I want to return to a time when life was simple, when all you knew were colors, multiplication tables and nursery rhymes, but that didn't bother you because you didn't know what you didn't know and you didn't care. All you knew was to be happy, because you were blissfully unaware of all the things that should make you worried or upset.

I want to think the world is fair. That everyone is honest and good.

I want to believe that anything is possible. I want to be oblivious to the complexities of life and be overly excited by the little things again.

I want to live simply again. I don't want my day to consist of computer crashes, mountains of paperwork, depressing news, how to survive when there are more days in the month than there is money in the bank, doctor bills, gossip, illness and loss of loved ones.

I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs, a kind word, truth, justice, peace, dreams, mankind and making angels in the snow.

I want to play with my pets and my days of imagination to last forever.

So here are my checkbook and my car keys, my credit card bills and my 401(k) statements. I am officially resigning from adulthood.

And if you want to discuss this further, you'll have to catch me first because,"Tag! You're it!"

It's truly the simple things in life!

I am trying to remember each day this quote by Marjorie Pay Hinckley..."The grand and the simple, they are equally wonderful"  I need to keep looking for the simple things that bring great joy into my life, that is much healthier, than looking at all the grand things I cannot do. I thought of this today, when my granddaughters and I were go looking all around our house looking for the neatest spider web. Jeff and I decided it should be this one. My youngest granddaughter Jenny, is still not sure about all this spider stuff, and is still trying to get used to all the fake spiders we have all over the house with the Halloween decorations.

Simple yes, but still amazing! So below are some fun facts for you about Spiders and their webs.
Also thanks to all of  you who took time to write me about the blog. I have to say that it definitely was a shot in the arm, that I needed. I am glad that it is making a difference. I will be sending out the winner their box of cards tomorrow. Thanks again!

Spider Webs

Spiders are classified according to their way of life. Web-Spinning-Spiders  spin webs to trap insects because their vision is not very good.  They know when prey is trapped on their web by detecting and reacting to the vibrations the line makes from their prey moving and trying to get free. Hunting Spiders run after insects or lie in wait for them.  Some hunting spiders spin simple webs that stretch out along the ground to catch  insects.  These spiders are grouped as hunters because they run after the insects that land in their webs.
This article will deal with silk of spider' web as well as different types of webs and how various spiders use these webs in their daily lives.  Did you know that each spider can produce several different types of silk?
