It's Friday!

It's Friday and I only have one more day left. Kai came upstairs with me while I was getting ready this morning and decided he wanted to do his eyelashes like Nana! He is just too cute!

Then we went to Target and it was so cold outside and there was even snow flurries. I can't believe this is Texas weather. Poor Kai needed a hot chocolate to keep him warm in the store!

Then we went and had Pedicures, we haven't done those since Lauren's weedding. I would love to tell you that this photo was a photo of our feet...but it isn't ! :)
I guess we thought if we had pedicures that we would force the weather
 to change!

It was so cold tonight that we felt like we should  go eat Pho and then come back and watch a movie.

So we just snuggled up with a good movie Big Hero 6, then got our snacks and blankets and we snuggled down for the night.

I am going to miss this bunch, how I wish we didn't live so far apart!

Friends, Family and Snowflake Lane!

Today was Day 2, of Jenny and Angie's Sleep Over. We started out the morning with a photo shoot with some dear friend's kids. Lauren had so much fun photographing these cuties! What a blessing it is to have so many near and dear friends in our home... that feel like family!

Then we did something else for the 2nd half of the day, but I will tell you about that tomorrow.
Tonight we took the girls to Snow Flake Lane in Bellevue. It was 20 degrees out, that is cold for Seattle, actually I think that is cold for anybody! We first stopped by Starbucks and got Hot Chocolates for everyone ( well, I actually got hot water for my Chocolate Coconut  Herbal Tea...yum. You should try it, it is by Republic of Tea ). The girls were cold but still said they wanted to go. Thank goodness the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Snow Flake Queen stopped by to dance with them. Dancing helped keep them a bit warmer ...I hope!

Plus, I think the peppermint tootsie roll suckers help fight off the bitter weather! :)

Then after the parade we went to Mod Pizza to get warm and have dinner. Jenny was so tired, she couldn't even laugh at Poppa trying on her hat. Plus, she had to hold her head up to eat.

Aunt Lauren helps makes doing anything...way more fun! Sorry that Uncle Lee had to miss the fun because he was working tonight!

Yes, it was a full day, a cold and fun day!

The girls had my scarfs on to help fight the cold. Poor Jenny, her scarf was so big around her neck...she could hardly get the hot chocolate to her mouth! :)
What a great day, can't wait to take Kai to Snowflake Lane when they get here and Miss Audrey some day!
Good night dear friends!

Enjoying what we have

We had a celebration for Lauren's graduation dinner tonight and so I am a bit tired and it is getting late. I found this cute story and wanted to share it with you. It already came with quotes at the end! SCORE

Good night dear friends and I hope we all can try harder to enjoy what we already have!

The Hot Chocolate Story

A group of graduates, well established in their careers, were talking at a reunion and decided to go visit their old university professor, now retired. During their visit, the conversation turned to complaints about stress in their work and lives. Offering his guests hot chocolate, the professor went into the kitchen and returned with a large pot of hot chocolate and an assortment of cups-porcelain, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite -- telling them to help themselves to the hot chocolate.
When they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the professor said: 'Notice that all the nice looking; expensive cups were taken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. The cup that you're drinking from adds nothing to the quality of the hot chocolate. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was hot chocolate, not the cup; but you consciously went for the best cups... And then you began eyeing each others cups.
Now consider this: Life is the hot chocolate; your job, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain life. The cup you have does not define, nor change the quality of life you have. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the hot chocolate we have. The happiest people don't have the best of everything.. They just make the best of everything that they have.
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.
And enjoy your hot chocolate!
