Teaching and Teaching!

Today I got my Online class project ready for video taping tonight. Then the girls came over and since it was raining they decided that they would like to go to the new library. So we thought maybe they should have some library tote bags to bring with them.
So they picked their fabric, their die cuts from Sizzix for their applique and then we went to work.
Audrey was having a hard time standing still, on the top right you could see where she was saying " stand right here Nana?"

Jenny, is loving that she is old and big enough now to iron things. She is really getting better and she is starting to love sewing more and more. She is beginning to read and so excited about that!

Angie is good and truly has an eye for anything she creates too! And she is also an avid reader!
I love teaching them though...hope they don't ever get too old to come create with their Nana!

 

When they went to the library, Jeff and I video taped some, but even with them gone... we still had the phone ring twice, then I actually got the top of my head in the camera for one whole session ( of course we didn't realize that till it was too late ) so tomorrow I will remake a another tote bag to that exact point and we will try to refilm it. We are so close I can almost feel it!

 So tonight, I will wash this same outfit one more time and put it back on with a smile and retape again! I have just one question...are we having fun yet?
Information to anyone who wants to do online classes in the future...
Save up more money ...because you will probably need 3 cameras instead of just 1, because you will need a better and faster computer and because you will probably like to hire someone to help you record and edit all of this,,, other than your family. It's a lot of pressure!

For the last week or so, I have been waking up every morning with this feeling of panic. I keep looking at my list of things I need to do before launching my business and it feels just too BIG for me to do. There are so many things that I need to do, that I really don't understand. Social Media is such a big part of it and the future and yet...I feel like I was born in the wrong era!. Still my kids seem to just know it and do it naturally.

My kids really think that I can do these Online Quilting and Sewing Classes, they believe in me.

As we talked about a Mission Statement for my business, all I could think of were the reasons that I would like to do these classes... I would like to be able to teach anyone, who would like to learn how to create. Creating is something that literally made all the difference in my life.
When I was young and my abuse was going on. The only way that I could get out of the situation or at least get my head out of the situation... was when I was creating. It took me to a whole other world...one that was happy and one that gave me hope, hope that my life in the future would be different, better and safe!
Then as I grew up, it continued to create and what even made my life better ...was to not only create, but to share what I created with Others. The feeling that you get when share with others, is just the best!  Knowing that something you created, something from you personally ...could make someone feel special, happy and  loved is truly what I think we were put on earth here to do!

So scared or not, I am going to start LynnMade Online Classes, and hope that someone, somewhere will need them, and learn how to create for themselves! And by creating something beautiful...I hope  that their lives will become even better
What do I have to lose, except Fear itself!

I have to remember all of these things so that I don't freak myself out each day. Truth is, if this is suppose to be, it will be. I need to turn it over to the Lord, and have more faith in myself, my talents and my family! When I do this, I wake up excited and ready to work!

I do hope it works...wouldn't that be neat? I don't think I will even mind...years from now when my kids say "I told you so Mom! " :)

What do you get when you put a roll of duct tape, cardboard boxes and 2 granddaughters and a whole lot of imaginiation all in the same room??

A really fun Sleepover and a really neat Fort!

The girls had 2 days off of school and so they came for a 2 Day Sleep Over! We were thrilled to have them, it has been a while. Angie is getting older, and like other Grandmothers of older grandchildren have told me before...there might come a time when you grandkids want to do things with their friends instead of you. Angie has been saying lately something like that. Hard to see them get older...!

We made breakfast for Poppa and set the table for him! He in return the next morning, left them a sweet note too!

We stayed in our jammies most of the day Friday, and they worked on their Fort as much as they could...until Poppa comes home and we get more duct tape.
But we did finally get dressed and went to do a few errands.
We stopped by Sally's Beauty Supply to get some stuff and while we were there...

We decided to check the hair color and see which one matched ours.

We stopped by and got some snacks at the Health Food Store and Trader Joes! ( plus more boxes )













Then we came home and made dinner for us to take with us. When Poppa came home, we all went to the movie Zootopia, that was really fun!

Had to go to Target and get more Duct Tape! :)

Of course we need to do some photos with the models!

What beautiful inside and outside girls I have!

Mind as well try out all the comfy furniture they have here too!

When we came home...I noticed that Jeff and both of the girls weren't feeling well. They are all starting colds. So they all went to bed right away! Oh man, hope they don't get worse, it's our Sleepover!

Today they stayed in their jammies a bit longer because they felt kinda crummy. By noon they both had fevers! Just let them play with their stuffed animals and then they colored on their fort for awhile and then laid down. 

After they got up, the sun was out and it was a bit warmer and they went outside for a couple of hours, just playing with bugs and anything else they could find.

Even though they stayed in jammies, they still were able to create!

Even the Bears needed to spend the day in their jammies!

 They are so cute...working together and creating together!

Then tonight, Poppa helped them put their roof on their fort and we had dinner and a movie! I love their sweet imaginations!

Jenny stays close to her Poppa even if it's in the garage or just watching a movie!

How grateful I am to have had this opportunity to have these sweet girls over for a 3 day Sleep Over!

Oh how I wish Kai and Oakley could live close enough to come over for a 3 Day Sleep Over!

2 Day Sleep Over/ Operation Christmas

The girls came over Thursday because they were out of school. So school's out = Sleep Over at Nana's house! It was a beautiful fall day so we had a great time. The girls picked more Gourds. We thought that we were growing Pumpkins but ... to our surprise we were growing gourds. Funny it didn't seem to bother the girls at all... they loved the gourds too! Oh to be a kid!



This morning the girls woke up and climbed in bed with me and we talked, giggled and laughed for over an hour ...talking about why I wanted to be named Nana when I first found out that I was going to be a Grandmother. They really laughed at some of my ancestor's names as grandparents!


Then we decided to eat breakfast and then stay in our jammies and do some kind of creative project.
I feel blessed that they love to create with Nana! :)

We decided to work on a project called OPERATION CHRISTMAS!!!!

So we set up stations, the girls made beautiful signs for each station. We even had Bathroom Station...necessary I guess! :)

 
Jenny really loved to get back on the sewing machine, she is really doing a good!

We even had an Ironing Station! Angie totally ironed all the fabric we used!

The foot stools I have made it perfect for both of them to be able to reach their machine foot pedals.

We had all kinds of stations...we had a cutting, sewing, ironing, serging, turning, pressing,  and stuffing! Oh we had sooo much fun with OPERATION  CHRISTMAS!

I love that my girls, actually all my kids love to serve and create! What sweet hearts they have!!!!
