Tough couple of days!

I have been trying hard to get things organized,
figured out and ready to start off this new year right.
It has been a long time since I have written in my blog, one of the biggest reasons is that my computer is acting up all the time now. Tonight I will try to write this quick!
I have been doing this blog for 8 years and have truly shared some of the toughest lessons that I have learned in my life.
This past year I have been up against something a bit bigger than me. I hesitate to mention it because I am not sure exactly how I am handling it. I have been warned about it for years and although I know that it is just a normal part of a Woman's life, it has been a tough one for me. Menopause!!!
Menopause was something that I watched my Mom struggle through and even though I am much older to start going through it than her... still I am beginning to understand why so many women dread even the word.
I realize also that every woman goes through it at different times and through different degrees, but I am sure a few things are just the same for each of us.
My emotions are changing a bit more than I would like. My internal thermostat is changing just about as fast... but only from Hot to Cold. My body is changing and not for the better and that is making it tough on a daily basis. Now before you call or email me of all the things I could be taking....thank you in advance but as a 2 time Cancer Survivor, I can not take them. So I am trying all the other natural things I can try.
I went to get a massage the other day at a new place and the secretary was a man. When he asked if I wanted the massage therapist to heat up the table before I got in there and I casually said " No thank you, I have my own internal heating pad turned on most of the time", he just smiled.
As I finished my paper work and turned it in to him, he smiled again and said " I am a 2 time survivor". I looked at him and said " I am glad for you....what type of Cancer did you have?"
His reply was " Oh I meant a two time survivor of Menopause! I survived my Mom and my wife!"
So I guess he said it all :)
Sunday night I started getting some terrible back pain and nausea, it went on for the rest of the night and all day yesterday. It started to scare me, because I couldn't figure out what it was. Many times in my life, my back has hurt so bad that it makes me sick to my stomach, but this felt different. After a bad day and into the evening it finally dawned on me that this is exactly how I felt last February when I had Kidney Stones. So the last 2 days have truly been tough. I keep drinking and drinking hoping to flush them out and pray that I can do it on my own and not have to go to the hospital. I started feeling better later this afternoon.
Today two dear friends came by and brought me an amazing dinner, fresh flowers and this beautiful snowflake garland. So even though it has been a tough two couple of days I realize that I am blessed and have much to be grateful for.
I have missed talking to you dear friends.
Good Night!

Quilts at the funeral....

I loved this article, what a tribute to the lady who made all these quilts. By looking at them, you could tell how much she loved each person she gave them to...by all the hundreds of hours that she worked and put into them. And by having them there displayed at her funeral ...you could tell how much they loved her and cherished her incredible gift!
I love making gifts for others!
Night dear friends!

Just a little over a week ago!

Just a little over a week ago, our son Lee and his fiance Caitlin got married.
Amy and I were the lucky ones that got to drive there with her 3 little girls.
Hard...yes! Long...yes! Exhausting...yes!
Fun...yes! Lots of bonding time...yes! Worth it...YES!!!

I have to admit Amy drove more than I did, still eating is the only thing that kept us awake!

Girls were troopers but after a whole day of driving we decided to get a Motel room and rest for the night!

You can see how excited the girls were to get to do a Sleep Over in a Motel! Actually so were we!

Arriving in Salt Lake and being with family and friends, was so fun! I have missed my great nieces and nephews! I love how the cousins all connected!

Two of them, we met for the first time. Oh how I instantly loved them!
Look at those faces...aren't they the sweetest?
We all got to be together for meals!

For a special trip to the Dinosaur Museum, where the kids got to actually dig for bones,

while their parents got to reconnect!

Hard to imagine my own kids, neices and nephews grew up but now to see the next generation...was a Priceless gift!

Stuffed animals have always been near and dear to our hearts, only fitting that Amy's girls got to go home with one each!

Then because we got to Utah a few days early, we were able to have breakfast with some old friends, ones that we hadn't seen in over 35 years...what a treat!

I love, love, loved seeing all the kids and grandkids together.
What a powerhouse of women, these 5 ladies are!
Then after Lee and Caitlin got married, right before they came out of the Temple, Jeff and I came out and acted like we were the newly weds! It was too funny, people starting clicking their cameras then they stopped and I heard someone say... " who are they?" It was too funny,
What we were really excited about was...we just had our last child get married! Can't you just see the excitement on our faces?

Ok, here is who they were really waiting for, but Jeff and I looked just as excited ...right? :)
All the kids couldn't wait to tell Uncle Lee congratulations!

When I look at these young men, I am grateful first of all ...for Bradley and the great older brother he has always been for Lee. Then as I look at the rest, and I am so thankful that Lee has such incredible friends in his life. Good friends can make all the difference!

Here is the Bride ( our new daughter in law ) and her sweet sisters and friends!

So blessed to have all our family together for such an amazing wedding!

We are glad to see our family getting bigger.
And congrats to Lee and Caitlin, your journey has just begun! We love you!

LynnMade Open House, come on in!

Yesterday was our Open House for my LynnMade Studio. It turned out to be a beautiful day and evening and I was so thankful for that, especially after all the rain we have had lately.

My sweet young friend Felicity came to help, she was the perfect Hostess!

Here is the logo that the kids worked on, hard to believe to see it in print!

Amy and Audrey came over to help. My dear friend Chris came too of course! She and Audrey made the Ginger Snap cookies together.

They had a great time and of course, everyone loved them...and I especially loved how it made the house smell.

Audrey and Aunt Chris baking together. Chris made the aprons for the girls!

It was so busy that I forgot to take photsos of all my dear friends that came by!

We had a great turnout, and I recieved some beautiful gifts and flowers as well wishes on my new adventure!  So grateful to have soooo many people who believe in me!!!

Here is the LynnMade Studio, finally finished! Thanks for everyone who helped me make this possible!

I feel blessed to have such a wonderful space to create our online classes in!

This cute gift, I had to convince Audrey that it was mine and not hers! :)

I wanted to have the Open House in January but we ended up going to Texas...to see our grandchilden! So I decided that if I could everything pulled together then we could have it in February, while I still had my Valentine stuff up...because I love all the Red and Pink!

After showing everyone my Studio then I took them down and showed them my Sewing Room, where all the mess and creativity really happens!
Thought I had better take a photo of it! It is rare to
see it this clean! :)
I love this space too, can hardly wait to get down here every day and start creating!

I know everyone couldn't make it to the Open House, hope that you enjoyed your own private tour!
Thanks again for your support and encouragement.

 Good Night dear friends!
