3 Day Breast Cancer Walk!

14 years ago when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer for the 1st time, my family participated in the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Race. Jeff and I decided that we should do that for a couple of reasons, One... because it was a Cause that we now dealing with, and we wanted to be a part of helping to find a cure. Second... because our kids were still young, and we wanted to show them how many other families were dealing with this disease. We wanted them to feel the power of so many people getting together and DOING something, not burying their heads and hoping it would go away. It was a great experience.
Today as I was going to do some errands, I saw all these PINK shirts and outfits on people as they were walking. I realized it was the Susan Komen 3 Day Cancer Walk ( how I wished I could have gone home and put something PINK on!
 I honked and waved at each one with tears in my eyes. How grateful I was to them for making a difference, for trying to help and honor all of us that have battled Breast Cancer. Silently I said a prayer of thanks for each of them!
Then when I was out I got a call from a friend of mine that I met on my way to Austin. She and I sat beside of each other on the airplane ride and almost before it took off...were Best Friends. We found out that we both were survivors of Cancer and many other trials in life. What an honor it was to sit and get to know her and her son on that long flight to Austin. Sure made the time fly by faster!
Anyway, she was at the Race as one of the Cheering Sections, and wondered if we could get together. I immediately went to see her ( only 10 mins away from where I was at the time)! What a wonderful and unexpected treat! It totally made my day!

I was grateful to stop what I was doing... to cheer on these amazing people, and to say Thanks personally to them.

 It was neat and then to spend some time with my NEW DEAR FRIEND, was icing on the cake!
I am truly blessed!

Think Pink!

Well, yesterday we got great news from our grandson and big brother Kai...he found out that his Mommy is having a baby...

Girl!!!!

Miss Oakley will be here in August...we just can't wait!

Let the PINK creating begin!

Jeff and talked the other night how grateful we feel to be Grandparents. Neither one of us realized that we could ever love someone as much as our own children...but every time we are with our grandchildren...we realize that we do love them like our own! What an incredible blessing and responsibility!

Pink, Penguin, Popcorn Party?

Last week was Jenny's 5th Birthday. Wow, we sure love this cute red head of ours!
Since Lauren has been home, we have been head down and going non stop on the Wedding stuff, but I didn't want to forget to write about our little Jenny!


Jenny has a ton of faces and moods! She is a bundle of energy and there is no way that you can guess from one minute to the next what you will get with her. .You never have to worry about being bored around her. She is always making us laugh. We sure love this girl!

She is crazy about her little sister, and no matter what she ever she is doing, she is never too busy to go get Audrey's blanket or share some food with her. She is a great Big Sister!

She gets excited about the littlest things and is always always discovering something new!

So for her Birthday party ..she wanted to have a Pink Penguin Popcorn Party, and so her talented Mom really made her dreams come true!

What a party, with a ton of kids dressed as Penguins...playing games and eating popcorn!

Life is crazy and a bit wild with Miss Jenny, but we wouldn't have it any other way! We love you Jenny!

We got the news today!!!!

Today we found out what Amy and John's little baby will be in April. I will tell you tomorrow how I shared the news with all the family by texting them, but that is a blog entry in and of itself. So tonight it is late and I will just share with you some photos to give you a hint of what we need to get ready for...

Can you guess what we are having for our 4th Grandchild? Yes, another sweet baby girl!

We didn't care at all if it was going to be a boy or girl! We love any of those sweet little spirits that come to earth and are a part of our dear family! So Miss Audrey is on her way and we can hardly wait!

Poor Kai ( our only grandson) will  have to put up with all  his girl cousins when we get together. Some how, I think he will be able to hold his own!

Need to head to bed, Jenny is here doing her Sleep Over tonight,  so I need to be up and ready for her in the morning! Good night dear friends!
