There is a world of possibilities out there!

Today I talked to Lauren, she is doing pretty well...still trying to figure out all of her schedules, classes and just getting used to the whole college life. I am so excited that she is there. I miss my kids when they go away (terribly) but I am thrilled that they have the chance to grow and develop. I didn't take advantage of that opportunity at that time in my life and I believe it made a difference. I had other opportunity's, they  were more hands on type of learning, but still having an education is important. I especially love that my girl's have this chance. I love this quote by Marjorie Pay Hinckley....

"DEVELOP SOME INTELLECTUAL CURIOUSTY. IF YOU HAVE IT, YOU WILL NEVER BE BORED. IF YOU HAVEN'T, CULTIVATE IT, HOLD FAST TO IT. NEVER LET IT GO. TO THE INTELLECTUALLY CURIOUS, THE WORLD WILL ALWAYS BE FULL OF MAGIC, FULL OF WONDER. YOU WILL BE INTERESTING TO YOUR FRIENDS, TO YOUR SPOUSE, AND A JOY TO YOUR CHILDREN. YOU WILL BE ALIVE TO ALL OF THE WONDERFUL POSSIBILITIES OF THIS WORLD."

"One of the things that may get in the way of people being lifelong learners is that they’re not in touch with their passion. If you’re passionate about what it is you do, then you’re going to be looking for everything you can to get better at it." ~ Jack Canfield

"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." ~ Mahatma Gandi

Lynn,

It's been a couple weeks since you left a comment on Mark's blog. I've been meaning to get back in touch with you, sorry it has taken longer than expected.

Thanks for your kind words and for inquiring of the family. We are all still trying to cope with this tremendous loss. Following the funeral, Amy went back to CO with Colette for a few weeks, and then my sisters Julie and Jennifer just went out for 5 days and got back home today. I think the consensus is that Colette is feeling the pressure of having to lead the family alone, but she is handling everything very well. She is a strong woman and will surely make it through this.

Her kids have been faring ok so far. They are happy to be back in school and surrounded by good friends. His 9 year old girl, Jessi, has probably taken it the hardest.

The rest of us are just trying to cope, and get through the shock of it all. I'm sure mom has felt a lot of pain, but she holds in her emotions well.

It has been nearly 10 years since Amy and I dropped by to visit you and your family in Seattle. Crazy how time flies! We now have 4 kids-3 boys and a girl. Peyton is 8, Ava and Ashton are 6, and Mitchell is 3. They are a ton of fun and make us laugh everyday. We love being parents, and are learning as we go.

Kevin, Julie and Jenn all are doing well, and are just trying to make sense of this loss. They are busy with kids and family life.

I am busy with work at Wells Fargo, and church duties. Obviously, I've been very distracted over the past month. I am busy with the ongoing investigation into Mark's accident and helping Colette get some business items ironed out. Your brother Steve has helped us as well.

Probably more than you wanted to know, but just wanted to give you an update and catch up a little. It would be so nice to get a Johnson family reunion put together some day. I know everyon is so busy. Mark and Colette loved Big E and visiting him with WV.

Anyways, give your family my best and take care. Feel free to email or call me anytime to keep in touch.

Best regards,
Ben
