Lighthouses

Yesterday we went to Mulkilteo Beach for lunch. It was beautiful and they even had a light house there. I don't know if it is used now, or just more for tourists to go through and understand the history behind it. So you could go up to the top and look out at the beautiful beach and water. Inside, along with all the history about Mulkilteo was a quote that I thought was wonderful, and so I wanted to share it with you.

“I can think of no other edifice constructed by man as altruistic as a lighthouse. They were built only to serve.”  ~ George Bernard Shaw

al·tru·is·tic...unselfishly concerned for or devoted to the welfare of others

I have always loved lighthouses and even more so now that we moved to Seattle. We love visiting the beaches and Lighthouses. As I look at the Lighthouses I think of all the good they do, the hope they provide and think of all the service they give. Much like what we should be doing in our own lives. Something to think about!
Night dear friends.

" We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won't need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don't fire cannons to call attention to their shining, they just shine."  ~ Dwight L. Moody
