QuiltCon Day 2

I got to work later today because my Grandson Kai has had the stomach flu. Last night he got worse and so no one slept too well. I ended up getting to work around 11:30 and worked till 2:00 or so. First thing I did when I got there was look up the booth with the BIG SEWING MACHINE, and you could even ride it! ONLY IN TEXAS are things this BIG!

There were a lot more people there today so, we were really hopping in our booth.

Here are my 2 new friends... working hard! :)
What a fun day!

Krystal is so sweet to pick me up everyday, and then we spend an hour or two... just looking around.

Here are Cindy and Jina from Riley Blake. Jina is friends with my sister in law Shirley. So she is waving hi to Miss Shirley!

I am so thrilled that Ellen ( the designer of the Quilting Disks ) invited me to work at QuiltCon with her... what a fun experience!
Came home this evening and took Kai and Keeva a walk to the park. Came home to a wonderful homemade dinner, and then toasted marshmallows on the fire pit outside.

Then read the Tickle Book to Kai that his Nona got him. It is the cutest book ever, I had not ever seen it before. You can look it up HERE:
Then last but not least...
we called our son-in-law Nik,  and sang Happy Birthday to him! Fun to have him in our family!

Happy Birthday! We love you Nik!!!

QuiltCon Day 1

Today I got up early to go to QuiltCon at the Convention Center here in Austin. I am working like I said in my girlfriend's booth and so for a few hours, I just did a demo for the Quilting Disks...sure wish that I would have practiced way more especially since everyone came by and was watching me. I did a lot of hearts, flowers and butterflies...still some of the ladies that didn't free motion much themselves, thought I was doing great. I told them to come back and see me on Saturday and I should be doing much better:)
Then Krystal came and picked me up and we had lunch at a French Bakery, it was neat and the crepes that we had were great. Fun to be with Krystal again! Love that girl! We stopped at the Michael Miller Booth and they had cards for you to write on and explain what you love about sewing, then they took a polaroid photo of you and pinned them up on a board. So this is a photo of a photo!
Krystal laughs at me because I am REALLY NOT INTO TATTOOS...but they had temporary sewing tattoos today, so ....I broke down and got this one...

Isn't that too funny?
They had a done of cute and fun Temporary Tattoo Booths but then then that had real Tattoo Booth and they were so crowded...the temporary one is all I could do, but we had fun photo opportunities at least!

I loved this booth by Windham. Loved how how they displayed quilt blocks. That is a great idea, especially if you liked to doodle!
I have to admit that being back in this Fair. I love all the Venders, I loved being one of the Venders and meeting all the new people there, especially people who love and enjoy some of the same things you do. I think I was born to sale, when I love something... I truly love to share it with others!

I am a lot like Superman....he gets his energy from the Sun and I get mine from PEOPLE!
So I got a lot of great energy today! Need to head to bed so I can get some more tomorrow!
Good Night dear friends!

I am with my Boy!

Today Jeff and I left for Austin, Texas to be with our family. I finally get to see this sweet boy of mine!
When he came with Brad to pick us up, he said "Nana, sit back here with me" My heart just melted! We crocheted in the back seat, he asked me what I was making with it. I told him that it was for his baby...I have a green one and a pink one in the works. He was sooooo excited that we were making stuff for his BABY ( that will be here this summer!
I will also be working for a friend of mine at her booth in the Quilt Con this week. She has some great Quilting tools to help your quilting go sooo much, you can find them Here:
Introducing Grip & Stitch Quilting Disks
I am soooo excited to work the booth with her tomorrow. My first booth that I started selling my crafts was when I was 12 years old. I love meeting all the new people and especially be around all the ladies who love the Quilting like me.
Well, it's 2 hours later here and we had a very crowded flight...so I am beat.
Good night dear friends!

Heart Moments

I am soooo sorry that it has been so long since I have written. I usually don't miss a day and now I have missed about 4 in a row. I am not sick so that isn't my excuse, but I have just been super busy. I have worked all week getting ready for a new class I am teaching at the Quilt Shop. The Birthday Club started today, and it will go on until June on the 2nd Sat of the Month from 10:00 till Noon! We had a huge crowd today, it was really fun. I am soooo blessed to be among sooo many amazing women. Thanks to all of you that came today, you totally made my day!

I have had a lot of Heart Moments this week and so I will try to just share a few with you, since it is Valentine's Day and all!
Loved watching the my granddaughters look at photo books of Jeff and I were young. They didn't know Nana and Poppa when we were that young.
It was cute watching them giggle about some of our photos! Sisters do that alot...giggle!

Since Friday was so beautiful, they wanted to have lunch on the deck. Fun watching them eat and then do bird calls to all the birds they kept hearing.

Sleep Over Breakfast!

Then after we cleaned up breakfast, they wanted to decorate the table for our Valentine's Dinner with Popp.

These girls love their Poppa! Plus we even had name cards on the table...made by Miss Jenny!

The girls love to crochet with their fingers but I am trying to get them use to a hook. Today was Jenny's first day trying the hook, she made her bracelet with a bit of help from me. She was pretty proud of that and her necklace she made all by herself (finger crocheting ).
Then Angie tried the hook again, had a bit of an attitude at first...then she got the knack of it and boom...her necklace was done so fast! She was so excited! I hope she keeps practicing, once you get the hook down, the sky is the limit with your creating!

Here is an upclose of Angie's necklace, she was so proud and she even added beads!

Another sweet Heart Moment was getting to talk to our Grandson Kai on FaceTime and see how much he loved the Valentine Holder I  made him. Missing this sweet face!
The next Heart Moment... happened at lunch actually! I was standing in line to pick up lunch for Jeff and I ( since I just got off of work ). And I started talking to the 3 lovely ladies who were in front of me.  ( I know what you are thinking, why do you talk to people while you are standing in line? ) Well, you never know when you will make a new friend, and I hit the Jack Pot, I made 3 new friends.

We got to talking and they offered to pay for my lunch, I felt very awkward, that isn't the reason that I spoke to them at all and definitely didn't want to have them think that. But then I realized they were looking for someone to Bless today. We sat and talked, and then they shared with me the Love of the Savior that they had. They truly were Christlike in their attitudes and spirit today. Not because they bought my lunch, but because they truly cared and just were doing the Right Thing at the Right Time...just as the Savior did.
I hugged my new friends goodbye and left with a sweet and Grateful heart, that I got to meet these great ladies. I don't believe that there are accidents in life. I think people come and go in our lives for a reason. The reason for me today ...was to be reminded of all the good people that all out there in the world...making a BEAUTIFUL DIFFERENCE! So a big Thank You for my new Angel friends!

This is harder to do, than one might first think!

We are all very different, everyone would agree on that. But for some when certain situations happen, it can let others not only feel bad about what happened ...but also wonder if there are more things they have done wrong. For others, they can let things roll off their backs and not take it personally. But for those of us out there that live life very PERSONALLY...it is hard not to feel bad or disappointed.
For me, I have to realize that I need to be a bit more like a Duck, and let things roll off my back without getting so upset, offended and or hurt. I need to look at the situation and the person for what it is, and if I didn't do something on purpose...then I need to let it go and learn from it.
I am 55 years old and believe it or not... I have have a rubber duck in my medicine cabinet ( that a dear friend gave to me ) as a daily reminder to live the best way I know how, and not to take things so personally!
But some days it is much harder to do than one might think!
Still it is a daily goal of mine!
Thanks for listening dear friends and Good Night!

The Key To Happiness Is Letting Each Situation Be What It Is Instead Of What You Think It Should BeNever push a loyal person to the point where they no longer care.
Maybe I should even get a tiny one like this and wear it around my neck all day! So I really don't forget this principle! :)
Micro rubber duck in a tiny bottleNever Respond To Rudeness?ref=pinp nn Never respond to rudeness. When people are rude to you, they reveal who they are, not who you are. Don’t take it personally be silent. If only there were a way to make all the rude people go and live on an island together so we didn’t have to deal with them! But wait a sec. There are...

Hearts are heavy!

I just found out this week that a friend of mine passed away from Cancer. She was always a picture of health and really took care of her body. Just really makes you realize that Cancer is what it is, and it doesn't always make sense who does or does not get it.
I was thinking of going to her funeral, but not sure that I can or should. The last friend of mine that passed away from Cancer, I think I cried as much as the family did. I am sure I wasn't much help to them. It just hits too close to home for me.

What I do try and do is remember something wonderful about that person, and try to adapt their same character, attitude or whatever it was I admired about them. By trying to be more like them, hopefully a part of them will continue to live on through me!

I realized from my last friend that no matter what, she took photos and keep memories of her and her family. What a gift that was to them! Since then I have tried hard to take more photos of me with my family, friends and grand kids. Photos are a bit tough for me, so that was a big challenge, but oh so grateful that we have those memories in print.

This dear friend truly took care of herself. I am going to try even harder to do the best to eat right, exercise ( as much as I can ), and keep up my positive thinking. I will honor her by trying to do the best I can and live life to the very fullest.
Still they will be missed!

Here are a few quotes and poem that came to mind.
Good night dear friends!

In Our Hearts
We thought of you with love today,
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday,
And the days before that, too.
We think of you in silence.
We often speak your name.
Now all we have is memories,
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake,
With which we'll never part.
God has you in His Keeping.
We have you in our Heart.  ~Author Unknown

Missing my boys!

Our son and his family live in Texas and that makes it very hard for (me ) Nana to spoil our grandson Kai! Here is a recent photo of him and his Dadday ( our son Bradley ) getting ready to go to church. Just didn't seem that long ago that I was getting Brad all dressed and ready with his sister Amy to go to church one Sunday! Brad was probably just a few months older than Kai is in this picture.

I can hear Brad making fun of the way I dressed him back then. Ok, I put suspenders on him to keep his shirt tail from coming out, not because he needed his pants pulled up any higher ! :)  I also painted a sun on a wooden button and put it on his shirt with a pin, because he was moving up in church from the nursery to becoming a Sunbeam (that was his Primary class name ). You can tell money was tight back then, by the size of the hem in his pants. Just tried to get the most use out of them as I could and changing a hem longer every now and then was much better than trying to buy another pair of pants! I still think he looks adorable just like his son Kai!

I love Valentines Day and always have. I loved making Valentine gifts for our kids, Jeff and family and friends. Now I have just added another level of Valentine Recievers...my Grandkids!
Wanted to finish my Valentine Holder for Kai and get it in the mail!

I also love mail...well at least sending it! Jeff said that the Post Office would always be in business because of me! So true!
Hope you are glad that it is February and that you will take the time to remind those around you, how much they mean to you!

"LOVE" Cookies ♥♥♥  coLove doesn't make the world go round...

If I could I would make a sweet Valentine for each of you, to let you know how much I love and appreciate you in my life!
Good Night dear friends!
